Abstract: Beginning in the late 1990's the University of New Hampshire's Energy and Campus Development Department recognized the need for an information system that could manage its vast collection of campus infrastructure. In 2002 the Energy and Campus Development GIS Group (ECD GIS) was created to meet these needs. Originally utilizing historical maps, CAD data, coverages, and shapefiles ECD GIS began the task of creating a comprehensive, consolidated campus wide GIS. Today ECD GIS has evolved to include geodatabase development, the implementation of an enterprise GIS solution using ArcSDE, and the creation of web mapping applications using ArcGIS Server. This presentation will demonstrate ECD GIS's current capabilities using UNH’s Sanitary Sewer Distribution System as an example. The Sanitary Sewer dataset was created from scratch by ECD GIS and has grown to include a broad range of ESRI concepts. This session will provide an in depth look at the utility mapping process at UNH as well as a live demonstration of geodatabase photo, video, and report linking, geodatabase network analysis, and ArcGIS Server web mapping applications.
