Authors: Paul Rooney, FEMA Headquarters Mitigation
Date/Time: Tuesday, September 23 ~ 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Abstract: FEMA's Map Modernization Program has produced GIS flood data covering 70% of the U.S. population. FEMA has developed an online Map Viewer and a desktop Map Viewer to make it easy for National Flood Insurance Program Stakeholders to use these data. The data is also availble through an Open GIS Consortium Web Mapping Service (WMS) so it can be loaded directly into a variety of tools like ArcGIS or Google Earth. This session will provide an overview of FEMA's digital flood data and the new tools available for using the data.
