Uses of GIS for Health Professionals Joan Gardner, President The talk would focus first on how GIS technology is
being applied for the benefit of health professionals - disease
surveillance, spatial epidemiology, social marketing and data
integration. The talk will also focus on some of the legal aspects of
using spatial information, and will present several case studies of
current projects of Applied Geographics, Inc, including data integration
and mapping for HCFA, spatial modeling and analysis of Breast Cancer on
the Cape through the Silent Spring Institute, disease registry geocoding
for the MA Department of Public Health. |
