GIS Training and Outreach Efforts in the Northeast Leslie Pelch, VT Center for Geographic Information (contact) 1.5 hour Panel Presentation Panel Participants: Sandy Prisloe, Associate GIS Educator, UConn Cooperative Extension System; Alyson McCann, Water Quality Program Coordinator, University of Rhode Island Cooperative Extension; Nancy Lambert, Extension Specialist, Natural Resources, UNH Cooperative Extension; Leslie Pelch, Outreach Coordinator, VT Center for Geographic Information; Paul Nutting, MassGIS. Panel participants will share their experiences developing and performing GIS training and outreach to various sectors (including but not limited to educators and municipal officials) in their respective states. Audience members will be encouraged to share their own experiences organizing training and outreach efforts. The goal of the session is to identify common education and training needs throughout the region. Such a list could be used as the basis for developing a regional strategy to address common needs. |
