| Abstract: | Historically CAD/GIS/CAFM were developed to meet the demands of specialized groups of Users. In recent past, development in software, applications, technologies and standards have erased historical technological boundaries and provided Users with a new array of technologies. The upmost challenge for Users is the need for be able to manage critical information and implement tools to respond to energy shortages and sustainability efforts. The challenge for software companies is the ability to develop and deploy application and tools that will respond to the interoperability needs of their Customers. A particular challenge is up for Colleges and Universities which in many ways are represented as small cities with a high concentration of utilities, people, equipment. |
