Abstract: The VT Department of Public Safety (DPS) currently uses an integrated suite of software packages to support a wide range of applications, including Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), and crime/incident mapping, tracking, history and reporting. These applications support users in the field as well as the backoffice, including police officers and PSAP call-takers. One key component of the system is an accurate and complete set of street names and addresses. As a result, DPS has established a close working relationship with VT's Enhanced 9-1-1 Board (E911) to facilitate the maintenance of a comprehensive and compatible street address database for the State of Vermont. The VT Center for Geographic Information (VCGI) has helped to facilitate this effort.
