A panel of staff and consultants from Northeast state health departments will present an overview of public health GIS in the region along with a variety of current examples, including:
  • Syndromic Surveillance GIS
  • Geocoding and service accessibility analysis using Cancer Registry data
  • Pediatric lead risk screening
  • Environmental health assessment and analysis
  • Emergency planning and response - data development/data collection and deployable base maps
  • Health surveillance analysis and reporting - west nile virus; lyme disease; rabies
  • Metadata and the ESRI Portal Toolkit
  • Application development -EDN for 'Historic' Health Databases
Time will also be allotted at the end of the presentation for questions and for a general discussion of public health GIS in the Northeast.
