Title: CAD and GIS Integration
Authors: Mike Doyle
Date/Time Tuesday, November 6 ~ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Abstract: This presentation will focus on the integration of CAD data collected in the field using Survey or GPS methods directly into a geodatabase using ModelBuilder and ArcGIS Server. It highlights the processes required to create a collection list for the data collection tools, and how that moves into CAD formats and finally is processed through the internet and into a working GIS database. We will discuss various options we have including ArcGIS' Survey Analyst, different scripting choices we made, and the usability of this type of process by end users (non-GIS proficient users).

Finally, we will discuss the hurdles that we ran into that include ArcGIS Server limitations, internet procedures required, CAD annotation, and adoption of Surveyors and non-GIS users for this type of application.
