Abstract: The City of Cambridge has a fairly mature municipal GIS program which began 14 years ago. Over the years we have created a large GIS community of over 50 users, significant GIS and addressing database, and have integrated the GIS into other large systems such as work order management, the Assessors CAMA system, and the E-911 computer aided dispatch (CAD) system. We have also brought GIS to the Web with our General Purpose Viewer (GPV) for public and staff accessibility to the City's GIS database.

This presentation is an overview of the GIS program in Cambridge and how GIS has become a critical to the success of other enterprise systems in the City as well as a key tool for many departments to carry out day to day operations. We will also look at how our master address database has played a key role in GIS over the past few years and how the database is also integrated in many enterprise systems including the Web viewers.
